I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, in faith I live, namely faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Jim and Claudia's Story
Jim has been in the pastoral ministry with Claudia at his side since 1981. After serving congregations in Nebraska and Iowa, he taught full time at St. Paul Lutheran High School(Concordia, MO) for 11 years and part-time for another 11 years. Claudia volunteered her time helping meet the needs of the international students at the high school. Claudia and Jim are blessed with 10 children and currently have 19 grandchildren.
The Dahlkes are not strangers to Haiti missions. Jim’s parents, Wille and Marge, served in Haiti and New Guinea. Jim and Claudia have made several trips to Haiti over the years, with Jim usually teaching Seminary classes and preaching at local churches on Sundays, while Claudia was working with the women of the church/village.Their daughter, Sarah (Mrs. Chad Muehler) is adopting a brother and sister from Haiti. Daughters Angela and Grace have had Haiti experiences also. Jim is also the recently elected president of Haiti Lutheran Mission Society(Lincoln, NE), an organization that has been active in Haiti for about 37 years.
Having established relationships through these trips, the Dahlkes believe there are other opportunities available to bringing the Good News to Haiti. This would include such activities as teaching English-second language, Bible studies with men/women of the churches, mentoring for marriage/family, helping villagers set up micro-loans for income-producing businesses, teaching/preaching and any other doors God would open. Please prayerfully considering joining Jim and Claudia through your prayers and financial support to help them in this ministry to the Lutheran church in Haiti.
Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s agreed upon stipend amount will become the property of MCN. In the alternative, excess funds may be used to support Mission Partner in missional activities under a new MOU, or Mission Partner may assign, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world, and not for the financial benefit of MCN.
