Emily and her husband, Jacob, recently relocated from an Asian mega-city to small town Nebraska. In their new home, Jacob teaches high school English, and Emily serves with Mission of Christ Network on the US front.
Mission of Christ Network sends lay missionaries to intentionally proclaim the Gospel in schools, churches, and neighborhoods around the world. Emily helps to connect individuals to MCN by recruiting and communicating with new mission partners. She also communicates with Network Churches to connect American congregations with needs in the mission field. And she works to develop resources for mission partners to use both in preparing for the field and while teaching and serving abroad.
Emily grew up in River Forest, Illinois in a supportive Christian family that nurtured in her and her siblings a love for God and a desire to share Jesus with those who don’t know Him. Emily’s parents, Jonathan and Ruth, live in Dubuque, Iowa; her sister and husband live in St. Louis; and her brother also works with MCN in Latin America.
Emily graduated from Concordia University Nebraska in 2014 with a degree in Secondary Education and concentrations in English and theology. It was while in college, that Emily had her first encounters with Asia missions, and God began to work in her heart a love for this part of the world. Emily served as an overseas missionary in Asia from 2014-2020.
In her free time, Emily enjoys reading and writing, biking, watching college basketball, drinking coffee, and having deep conversations.
Pray for Emily and Jacob in their life together as they walk with Jesus in a new place and support ministry around the world. Pray for daily opportunities to share the Gospel and proclaim the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness, into His marvelous light!
Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s agreed upon stipend amount will become the property of MCN. In the alternative, excess funds may be used to support Mission Partner in missional activities under a new MOU, or Mission Partner may assign, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world, and not for the financial benefit of MCN.
