Jessie, and her daughter Valeska, live in the coastal town of Parrita, Costa Rica, where God has planted their family to build relationships, specifically with teenagers. Jessie is currently working with LightHouse Transformation Ministries, whose mission is to facilitate social transformation through informal education and gospel proclamation.
The LightHouse team offers English and values learning opportunities within the public high school with the aim of developing authentic relationships and sharing the gospel. English language learning is a felt need in the community. We are praying that God continues to give us abundant, creative ideas to reach the community with his love, hope, and freedom.
Jessie has served in Costa Rica since 2006, previously working with the youth outreach organization Young Life in San Jose. She loves the beauty of creation and the people of Costa Rica. In her free time, Jessie enjoys hiking, playing games, and hanging out with friends. Jessie was raised in a loving, Christian home in Terre Haute, Indiana. She is grateful for her family’s love and support. She graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in youth ministry and from Fuller Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in Global Leadership.
Valeska is a young adult who is still discovering her purpose. She loves being around animals, especially dogs and horses, and creating art.
Jessie and Valeska are grateful for the front-row seats to watch God transform lives and the community of Parrita.
Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s Total Cost of Missionary Service may be used to further support Mission Partner in missional activities, or Mission Partner may donate, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN or to MCN’s General Fund. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world.
