Serving Opportunity
MCN partners with a local Lutheran Church in Central Asia to provide mentors for Muslim background college students living in a Christian Dormitory. Married couples are needed to serve for three months at a time on rotation, living in the dormitory with the youth. There are also opportunities for qualified persons to teach at the local Bible school and mentor leadership in the local church.
Many young believers end up living in free housing provided by mosques nearby the universities they choose to attend. There they are required to read the Quran and participate in prayers as a condition for their housing. In partnership with the local Lutheran church, we are working to provide a home where these youth can instead learn about the Bible, pray to Jesus together, and develop skills needed in the church alongside their university studies.
Volunteer couples have the opportunity to come for three months at a time to live in this dormitory and participate in the building up of a new generation of believers in a place where the church is still very young. Volunteers with pastoral experience and training may also have opportunities to teach at the local Bible School and mentor local pastors.
You Will Be
