Serving Opportunity
2-3 short-term mission partners are needed from early June to early August to help teach classes and build relationships with students while full-time mission partners are on furlough. This summer service fills a vital need – allowing Stronghold to maintain a consistent presence in their community in the middle of their students’ school year while giving volunteers a taste of full-time missionary service.
Stronghold Cambodia is a Non-profit Organization (NGO) located on Fish Island in Kampot, Cambodia where they strive to empower communities for positive change through Christian care and learning. They do this by equipping Cambodian children and parents physically, intellectually, and spiritually so they may carry out fruitful Christian lives.
Stronghold provides education for grades 3-9 rooted in Christian love and principles. They use a before and after school “wrap around” model to provide lessons in English and computer skills as well as offering a daily nourishing meal and devotions. Stronghold hosts workshops and seminars for the parents/guardians of their students to support and educate families and provide community within the context of Stronghold’s Christian values.
You Will Be
- Teaching English from pre-written lesson plans
- Building relationships with children and families whose primary exposure to the Gospel is through Stronghold
- Supporting Sunday worship and Sunday School
- Experiencing a taste of daily life as a missionary!
