Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.

the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Robert C. (Bob) Boyd is a veteran Lutheran educator who continues to share the good news in retirement.
A graduate of Concordia – Ann Arbor (AA), Valparaiso (BS), and Concordia – Chicago (MS), Bob served Lutheran schools for 42 years. Schools in Detroit; Lombard, IL; Owego, NY; Lincoln, IL, Ft. Wayne, IN; and Lakeland, FL. were blessed through his leadership as teacher and administrator.
He has been married to Rebecca (Lehenbauer) since 1979. She is also a retired Lutheran educator. Together they have four sons and three grandchildren. They reside in Ft. Wayne, IN where he teaches confirmation, leads Bible classes and senior ministry, serves as an elder, and sings in two choirs. He also is a volunteer with the Audio Reading Service of the county library and is president of the Friends of Wyneken, a historical society in Poe, IN.
Robert has had a long-time interest in Christian mission work in China and has more recently been fascinated by the unique system of indigenously operated Lutheran schools in Hong Kong. He has presented his research on the topic of Hong Kong Lutheran Schools in several venues.
After sponsoring a current Mission of Christ volunteer he was inspired to investigate opportunities to perform short-term service to a Lutheran school operated by the Lutheran Church Hong Kong Synod. While plans are still being developed, he is prayerfully seeking insight into how he can be used to share the good news of Christ’s wound healing love.
He enjoys remodeling, upcycling, and creating original art.
Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s Total Cost of Missionary Service may be used to further support Mission Partner in missional activities, or Mission Partner may donate, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN or to MCN’s General Fund. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world.
