The LORD will go before and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Olivia’s dad inspired her interest in global missions when, at the age of thirteen, they went on the ultimate daddy-daughter date volunteering at a children’s camp in Costa Rica. Four years later, she returned for a month, becoming convinced that teaching English isn’t that scary after all, learning (and using) Spanish is rewarding, and the Kingdom of God is doing miraculous work across the world. She left assured of God’s grace to seek the lost and to incorporate her into His international mission, whenever and wherever possible.
Born and raised in Big Lake, Minnesota, alongside brothers Ethan and Joshua, Olivia thanks God for parents John and Julie, their example of faithful witness to the Word even and especially when it requires “going against the grain,” and their level-headed support throughout her studies, travels, and aspirations. These included a semester studying in Chile and several weeks teaching English in China. She graduated from Concordia University – Nebraska in December 2019 with a degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, World & Intercultural Studies, and Spanish.
On the cusp of a new chapter in life, Olivia’s prayer now is that she embrace with great joy and faith the will and work of God as they unfold daily before her. She enjoys making music, writing stories, and delighting in the little moments with people and places, confident that He who began a good work will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:6).
Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s agreed upon stipend amount will become the property of MCN. In the alternative, excess funds may be used to support Mission Partner in missional activities under a new MOU, or Mission Partner may assign, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world, and not for the financial benefit of MCN.
