Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.

Ephesians 4:3-6

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:21

Katherine Moser was born in Guangdong, China, where she was adopted as an infant from a local orphanage. She grew up in midwestern Illinois with her older brother and adoptive parents that instilled Christian values into her from an early age.

However, it wasn’t until Katherine became older that she took her faith seriously. Through friends in her youth group who were strong in their faith and modeled being Christ followers, she noticed God was pulling her toward Him during a time when she was struggling with her identity. Now, she knows her identity and purpose in life is found in Jesus, and it is because of His sacrificing love for her and for all people that she desires to share the Good News with those that have yet to know Christ.

Katherine graduated from Illinois State with a Bachelor’s in Biology Education, with minors in Spanish and East Asian Studies in May 2026. She also received her TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certification in July 2023 through the International TEFL Academy. During summer 2024, she participated in a “Shadow a Missionary” Trip and a Study Abroad in Taiwan program in which she fell in love with Taiwanese culture and the people. After praying for discernment and seeking advice from faithful friends and mentors, the Lord placed it on Katherine’s heart to go and serve in Chiayi, Taiwan, where she will teach English at Concordia Middle & High School and share in God’s urgent mission of intentional Gospel Proclamation.

So shall my Word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Rev. Dr. Michael Lockwood serves as a teacher at China Lutheran Seminary in Taiwan, focusing primarily on biblical doctrine and Luther studies. CLS is the only accredited Lutheran Seminary in Taiwan, and the only accredited Lutheran Seminary anywhere in the world that teaches in Mandarin Chinese, the heart language of over 1 billion people. It therefore serves an important mission of training pastors and church workers who can bring the Gospel to the people of Taiwan and the wider Chinese speaking world.

Over the years he has taught pastors and church workers in many countries throughout the Asia Pacific region. In this way he has discovered first-hand the hunger that many people in this region have for God’s Word, and the joy of bringing the Good News to them.

Sarah Huhn was born in Florida but spent most of her childhood in Escondido, a town in Northern San Diego County. As a military kid, she also spent three years living in Okinawa, Japan where she was blessed with the opportunity to travel to nearby countries and experience many different cultures. Though only five years old when she arrived in Okinawa, God was working in her heart and preparing her for international missions. Sarah’s family includes her parents, Dan and Jackie, who have always encouraged her passion for exploring other cultures and serving God and others, and her younger brothers Jake, Luke, and Ben.

Sarah graduated from Concordia University Nebraska in May 2019 with majors in World and Intercultural Studies and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and minors in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
