Rich and Miriam's Story
Richard and Miriam have been involved in church work and overseas mission for all of their married life. Rich started out serving in congregations as a DCE. After marriage and two children, he went to the seminary. His first pastoral call was to the seminary of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria. Miriam spent those years teaching their children. After six years working and teaching there, they moved to Minnesota. Rich earned his doctorate at Luther Seminary and began teaching at Concordia University, St Paul. Miriam spent her time teaching and taking care of the family. They spent one sabbatical year teaching in Russia and a later one in India. In retirement, Miriam has spent her time volunteering with seniors and also tutoring US immigrants in English. Now with Rich’s retirement, since they still have good health, they are ready to head overseas again, praying for God’s guidance and leading. Rich and Miriam have volunteered to serve overseas again for the next two years through Mission of Christ Network and in partnership with the World Mission Prayer League. They invite you to support them financially and through your prayers as they give thanks to God for this new opportunity to participate in God’s mission.
Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s agreed upon stipend amount will become the property of MCN. In the alternative, excess funds may be used to support Mission Partner in missional activities under a new MOU, or Mission Partner may assign, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world, and not for the financial benefit of MCN.
