But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Savannah Simmons was born and raised in Wylie, Texas. She is the daughter of Wayne and Michelle Simmons and the youngest of four siblings. Her mother grew her faith from a young age, integrating God into their daily lives and teaching Sunday school. As she got older, she got to see her father express his love through numerous short-term mission trips that he chaperoned for all four of his children.

Savannah first felt a call to DCE ministry as the result of her own youth group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dallas. From then on, encouraged by the leaders and volunteers in the church, she wanted to create a safe, loving, Christ-centered environment for people to grow and develop in their faith.

Savannah attended Concordia University Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education and Psychology. It was during this time that she visited Slovakia to see an MCN missionary in action, realizing God was preparing her to serve Him in ways she never expected. From there she was blessed with many opportunities to experience serving God through work with children and teens, community outreach, and personal relationships.

She is serving her DCE internship in Hong Kong partnering with a local church and schools to teach English, spread the Gospel, and help children and families develop their faith!

Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s Total Cost of Missionary Service may be used to further support Mission Partner in missional activities, or Mission Partner may donate, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN or to MCN’s General Fund.
