Stephanie's Story

Stephanie Lund was born and raised in Parker, Colorado. Daughter of Guy and Nancy Lund and sister to Ali Lund, she was blessed to be surrounded by a loving family and Christian community.  Stephanie grew up in the Lutheran school system, graduating from Trinity Lutheran School in Franktown and Parker Lutheran High School before attending Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.

While at Concordia, Stephanie studied literature, writing, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She had the opportunity to take a study tour through Europe in 2011, spent a semester studying abroad in England in 2013, and student taught in Slovakia in 2014.

Through these experiences, she developed a love for encountering new cultures and a heart for the unchurched population in Europe. Stephanie graduated from Concordia in 2014 with majors in TESOL and English and minors in Writing and Composition Rhetoric, and spent a year and a half teaching English to students from China and Korea through the St. Louis Lutheran High School Association’s international boarding program.

Stephanie returned to Tisovec, Slovakia in August 2016 to serve as an English teacher and a mentor to high school students at Evanjelické Gymnázium Tisovec. Over the past year, she has been overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness in providing relationships and opportunities to share about Christ’s love and the hope of the Gospel with her students, co-workers, and friends in the Tisovec community. She is excited to see what God has in store for the upcoming year, and is grateful for the many individuals and congregations who are supporting and partnering with her in this ministry.

Stephanie enjoys reading, writing, photography, and spending time outside.

Any funds raised that exceed Mission Partner’s agreed upon stipend amount will become the property of MCN. In the alternative, excess funds may be used to support Mission Partner in missional activities under a new MOU, or Mission Partner may assign, after consultation with the Executive Director, any excess funds to one or more Mission Partners who are in good standing with MCN. The purpose for this is that any funds raised are to support missional activities throughout the world, and not for the financial benefit of MCN.
