In 2013 a small group of lay leaders came together to establish an organization committed to training and sending laity in cross cultural mission outreach. Out of this group, Mission of Christ Network (MCN) was formed. Committed to sharing the light, love and peace of Jesus Christ throughout the world, MCN has grown exponentially over the past decade.
The first training session for mission partners (later called Concordia Mission Institute) was held in July, 2014 with 5 mission partners in attendance, along with board members, mission experts, and church leaders.
Fall of 2014, MCN’s first 5 mission partners were deployed to the field with the mission of intentional Gospel proclamation.
In 2015, 15 mission partners were trained and sent.
In January of 2017, MCN’s executive director transitioned to Rev. Dr. John Mehl. MCN had 25 mission partners in the field and was serving in more than eight countries.
In July 2023, MCN celebrated its 10th Anniversary during the Concordia Mission Institute. In these 10 years, MCN has sent a total of 95 mission partners into God’s world. Each week 2,000+ Gospel connections happen through relationships by MCN mission partners.
