Whether you have a degree in Education and a passion for classroom teaching or are simply a native English speaker who enjoys spending time with students, teaching opens unique doors around the world for building relationships and sharing the Gospel. Almost nothing is as highly desired internationally as an English language education, and teachers who have a heart for God’s Mission are beautifully positioned to help students learn and grow, not only academically – but spiritually and for eternity!

Why teach on the mission field?

Take the first step toward missionary teaching.

Local Lutheran schools offer college graduates with or without a teaching background the opportunity to work alongside national English teachers. Mission partners teach conversational English and Bible stories, reaching students with the Gospel who may otherwise never hear of Jesus.

Community-based English programs allow native-English-speaking volunteers to help students practice English in a less formal classroom setting. Mission partners focus on building relationships with both children and adults, impacting families and communities.

The Intensive English Program at the Mekane Yesus Seminary in Ethiopia allows TESOL-trained English teachers to work with seminary and university students to improve their academic English, empowering graduates to have an impact on a national or even international level in their respective areas of Christian ministry.

International Christian schools offer licensed teachers the opportunity to teach within their content area or grade level of expertise. Mission partners support missionary families and share the Gospel with students from many different cultural and religious backgrounds.
